I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with Wednesdays.
Wednesdays seem to teeter back and forth on the seesaw that is both half-full and half-empty. The weekend is in sight, but not quite considered close. Unless you’ve lived under a rock, you’re probably familiar with the commercial where the camel walks around, exclaiming, “Hump Day!” Maybe you have a coworker who still quotes that?
Hump Day took on new meaning while I was pregnant with my Rainbow Baby. The Doctor thought it best for me to receive progesterone shots weekly, which were given on – you guessed it – Wednesdays. While the shots were (quite literally) a pain in the rear, it became a break in the monotony of my “modified bed rest” (and also helped me to remember what day of the week it was!).
Maybe because Wednesdays fall in the middle of the week where it isn’t quite the beginning and not quite the end to the week, I can’t help but relate that to where we are in life. The middle. It’s not where we’ve been or where we’re going. It’s where we are. Not the past and not the future, but the present.
Starting next week, I hope to help you wherever you’re at in your present by sharing some words of Wisdom on Wednesdays. Oh, don’t worry; the wisdom isn’t coming directly from me. (Insert sigh of relief!) I’ll start off by sharing from the original Book of Wisdom: Proverbs.
I’d love to have you grow in wisdom with me! Subscribe now so you don’t miss out on future Wisdom Wednesday posts. Leave me a comment with your favorite verse you’d like to see featured!
