2017 was an interesting year for the Sincerely Anchored blog.
In the beginning of 2017, my blog name changed from Anchored Mom Life to Sincerely Anchored. It was a tough change, but I’m proud of it and happy to be a voice for women who are struggling through the journey to become a Mom too.
There were several times when I needed to pull back from “To Do” lists to focus on my family. While that disrupted my goals for post creativity and consistency, it also reminded me of my priorities and I don’t regret it at all. Between having a high energy preschooler who I started homeschooling to the Navy moving our family to a new state and duty station, there were plenty of things pulling my attention.
And then other times, I had the joy of watching some incredible things occur with this blog – like a post interview that caused me to upgrade things behind the scenes because the 93,000+ views kept crashing my server! I also joined some amazing groups that have helped me learn loads and am excited for the implementing some changes in 2018, as well as some other exciting surprises to come – keep watching!
One thing that was interesting to watch was the favorite posts from you, my readers!
Here are your Top 5 Favorite Blog Posts of 2017 (by page views):
Who knew that a New England Patriots ring could make such an impact? This post means a lot to me so I love that so many of you viewed it and shared it with your friends! A sweet moment with my son about rings turned into a discussion of love. This led into thoughts of the greatest love of all.
2017 was my year to Shine. I learned that shine is in opposition of shying away from what I’ve been called to do. And that became my goal. As the year went on, I learned that shining can take on different forms than one might typically think. It’s not always success and notoriety. Shining in 2017 was a reminder to be God’s light to those around me and to not be insecure or anxious about His calling.
This was the hardest blog post to share of the Top 5. While being pregnant with my daughter, we became uncertain of her future due to some health concerns we could never definitively see. The outcome wasn’t what I had wanted or prayed for, but through it all God is good. This post shared what it was like for me as I carried her and the journey I went on during the pregnancy.
Sincerely Anchored’s first Declutter Challenge came along and was a blast! Little did I know that we’d be moving later in the year, so a lot of my work was already done by then. I was so proud of all of you who completed the challenge with me and can’t wait to do it again this year (closer to Spring cleaning – decluttering the garage during Winter was a pain!). Something I learned from you all is that you love getting helpful printable, so I’m excited to say that 2018’s going to bring a ton of printables for you all! Woohoo!
And the #1 Blog Post of 2017 is…
Have you ever been with a table of friends and you each take a turn naming a celebrity you’ve either met or seen in person? Well, the most popular celebrity I’ve ever met has to be April the Giraffe. I don’t think any of us from our little area of upstate NY ever predicted the mediastorm following April’s pregnancy and (live!) birth to Baby Taj. But I am thrilled to give a different perspective to the heart of Animal Adventure, Jordan Patch. This was your #1 favorite Sincerely Anchored post, and it is easy to see why.
Thanks for supporting Sincerely Anchored!
I enjoyed seeing what your favorite posts were in 2017 and am excited to see what is coming in 2018. Thank you for your continued support!
